Why we started
Comparing prices can mean opening several retailer websites, checking different pack sizes and working out which store is nearby. PLONKER brings those comparisons into one place so you can make a more informed choice about where to shop.
Our focus is clear, useful information: the product, its pack size, the listed price and the store offering it. Where product information is available, price-per-litre comparisons help make different sizes easier to compare.
Where we're heading
Christchurch first. Dunedin next.
PLONKER currently focuses on Christchurch and surrounding Canterbury communities. The stores and products shown depend on the coverage available near your selected location.
We plan to expand to Dunedin as we build and verify local store coverage. Dunedin is a planned expansion, rather than an area we claim to cover today.
How PLONKER works
Choose a location, search for a product or browse a category, then compare available prices from nearby retailers. You can open a retailer listing or directions to a store from the comparison.
We collect prices from public retailer websites and check store-specific sources where available. Scheduled checks refresh the data, but prices, promotions and availability can change between checks. A listed price is not a guarantee of stock or an identical in-store shelf price; confirm with the retailer before buying.
PLONKER is a comparison service. We do not sell alcohol, take payments for it or complete retailer checkout. The service is intended for people aged 18 and over.
